ANIMATED LEGION
OF SUPER-HEROES STYLE GUIDE
(2006)
A STYLE guide was
commissioned by the producers of the series so that animators and
colorists knew what sort of look to adhere to.
The DVD featured designs converted to vector art by
revered comic book illustrator Mike Zeck, and included character
illos, graphic design elements, turnarounds, fonts, banners and
iconography.

PRELIMINARY CHARACTER
DESIGNS (2005-2006)
Chief producer
and animator James Tucker, aided by artist Lynell Hakim
Forestall, produced many of the preliminary sketches and
concepts for the series, polished by Mike Zeck above. Here
are some of the designs.

One of the
background artists, Michael Swanigan, collected many of
the roughs from the series into a book, which includes plot
synopses, story plans, sketches, layouts and rejected ideas.
Excerpts are shown below. Note that the book is not an official
licenced publication.

Note that
in this last synopsis, a number of villains are listed,
but not all of them eventually made it into the series.
Some future Legionnaires are also planned to be introduced
as adversaries.
