FLEER ULTRA: SUPERMAN

The Ultra line is a premium, high-end product that uses thicker card stock, glossy UV coatings, and various other gimmicks like lenticular and acetate cards. There is no question that they look absolutely superb.
   The base set consists of 100 cards of characters connected to Superman. There are six related to the Legion: Brainiac 5, Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, Mon-El, Saturn Girl, and Vril Dox II (L.E.G.I.O.N.). Make that nine if you count Superboy, Supergirl, and Superboy-Prime.
   There is a kaleidoscope of color and style variants, with specific numbered and limited runs for them. All in all, there are 13 parallel versions for the bases, making it a total of 14 per character, and therefore 84 for the Legion members mentioned. Two of the variations are numbered to only 1, so you can virtually rule them out of any collection. Other runs aren't that better, with some going to only 9 and 38.
   Two of the parallel sets (silver and gold rainbow) are digital-to-physical exclusive achievements, so cannot be pulled directly out of single packs. Instead, collectors combine digital cards on the e-Pack platform.
   Then there are 15 other sub-sets, most of which feature those same Legionnaires or fewer, and many of these lines also have their own parallel and numbered formats.
