THE solicitations for this DC DIRECT line read that the figures "are colorful, pocket-sized DC Universe heroes and villains drawn from DC's spectacular roster of characters past and present". Indeed, the plan was to produce EVERY DC character, but only six Legionnaires were made.
Ostensibly, they were a redux of the Mego Pocket Heroes from the 70s.
Be that as it may, it's hard to get excited over these ugly mini-figures with scrawled-on facial features. The much tinier HEROCLIX line that would be produced many years later would provide far greater craftsmanship and detail.
The figures came with a backdrop of Legion HQ ("tampo-imprinted decos") that the figures could be posed against, as well as little white bases to be propped on.
