THE SECRET ORIGIN OF THE LEGION CLUBHOUSE

The following story about the origin of the Legion Clubhouse had been completed for publication in the 80s before it was pulled at the last minute. Written by the disgraced Gerard Jones and illustrated by Kurt Schaffenberger and Ty Templeton, it was vetoed by the Superman editorial office because it made reference to the pocket universe of Superboy in those John Byrne days when the Superman mythos had been rewritten.
      The story was hastily rehashed to one involving the sacrifice of Fortress Lad. But in a different time, here's what the origin would have looked like. Click on the panels to see higher res versions.
