FORTNITE (2022)

Fortnite is a free online multiplayer video game made by Epic Games. The most popular mode is called Battle Royale, where up to 100 players are dropped onto a large island, and everyone searches for weapons, equipment, and supplies. The last player or team still alive wins.
   Fortnite often crosses over with famous franchises. Characters from DC Comics, Marvel, Star Wars, musicians, athletes, and movie heroes regularly appear as playable costumes called skins.
   In 2022, the Naltorian character Dreamer was introduced to the game. A special tournament named The Dreamer Cup was held, with the main prize being early access to the Dreamer character skin. Players who finished high enough on their regional leaderboards received the skin before it was released in the in-game item shop.
   Players could later buy her from the shop using V-Bucks.

   Dreamer was added as part of Fortnite's collaboration with DC Comics and the game's Rainbow Royale celebration, which highlights LGBTQ+ creators and characters.
   In Fortnite, Dreamer functions mainly as a cosmetic skin. She changes the appearance of the character only and does not give special powers or gameplay advantages.

   Within the Lego version of Fortnite, Dreamer's appearance is changed to that of a Lego mini figure.
